SUMMARY:International Day for Biological Diversity
DESCRIPTION:International Day for Biological Diversity is seen annually on 22 May\, and it is also known as World Biodiversity Day. It is marked to recognise the importance of biodiversity and address the issues of biodiversity facing now. \nEarlier\, it was observed on 29 December till 2000. It is the date on which the Convention of Biodiversity came into force. But in 2000\, the United Nations General Assembly shifted the date to 22 May to commemorate the adoption of the Convention by the Nairobi Final Act on Biological Diversity. Moreover\, there are a lot of important days in December to celebrate\, and it wasn’t very easy for all countries to collaborate and cooperate in marking this day. \nThe theme of the International Day of Biological Diversity 2020 is “Our Solutions are in Nature.” It emphasises that the problems in the current scenario we are facing has solutions in nature in almost every aspect like livelihood\, health\, agriculture\, monsoon and many others. \n
